Everyone is affected by sound every now and again. Have you ever heard a piece of music that reminded you of a certain time or place or people and upon listening you'd be transported right back to that time or place or company? That's because we make memories with our emotions! A Sound bath can reach right there - to your emotional memories and connections, to your emotional body and beyond... A sound healing bath can do wonders to the emotions, allowing them to become be beneficial to you, to help you feel happier in life. Sound is energy, emotions are energy (energy in motion = e-motion = emotion!) and we know energy can affect energy. Pretty logical, isn't it? Sound healing can help bring your emotions up to the surface, clear them out, cleanse them and transform them, so that they serve you rather than lower your vibration. A recent study by Walter et al. (Ref. 1) showed that more than 90% of Singing bowls Sound bath participants felt more relaxed and more than 82% of participants felt that their emotional state was calmer. They also felt happier, more satisfied, more secure and connected. There was also a general feeling of mental clarity. In another study by Goldsby et al. (Ref. 2) Singing bowls meditation participants reported decreased tension, anger and fatigue as well as improved mood. There were also increased feelings of general spiritual well-being. Blood pressure and heart rate has been shown to decrease after a Singing bowls Meditation experience compared to a non-sound Meditation (Landry et al. - Ref. 3). Other than the non-quantitative spiritual reasons we can look at sound healing from the perspective of the brain. Sound healing involves new sounds, unexpected and mostly unknown sounds and melodies to the brain. Not knowing what sound comes next is a good thing - it helps your brain to be in the moment! This newness stops us from thinking about the past or future, because the brain is engaged, having the moment-to-moment experience, in this case various healing sounds. In conclusion, there is no doubt that sound healing exerts positive physiological and psychological effects. From my own observations and reports of participants of my Sound healing sessions I am consistently informed that sleep is deeper and better quality the night after a Sound bath. We all know that a good night's sleep is possible when we are able to both relax and feel safe in our environment. Then we can sleep better and deeper and wake up more rested, refreshed and with a more positive outlook on life. Nothing is more important than our well-being. This affects everything, starting from day-to-day mood and activities, through satisfaction and quality of life to the state of consciousness on Earth. The better we feel, the better our lives are, the more peaceful and joyful life is on this planet.
